Jeffrey Davidson is an attorney admitted to practice in the States of Illinois and Indiana, with his practice based in suburban Chicago. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1987, and thus has more than two decades of practice focused upon trademark, copyright, and related intellectual property and entertainment issues.
Jeff has broad experience in the areas of U.S. and international trademark prosecution, as well as clearances of trademarks, names and marketing slogans. He also has spent much of his practice engaged in counseling, licensing and litigation in the areas of trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, domain names, advertising, and rights of publicity. He has experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in IP and business disputes.
In the course of Jeff’s career, he served a number of years as in-house trademark counsel to the nation’s largest consumer products marketer, a Fortune 40 corporation headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. There, he was responsible for protecting and extending some of the company’s flagship brands. He also has significant private practice experience, having practiced with large law firms both in Chicago and in Indiana.
Jeff’s approach to client service is friendly, informal and responsive. He remains keenly aware that the lawyer-client relationship is at its core a personal relationship. Because of his in-house experience, he is attuned to the fact his clients have real-life business and financial concerns that extend beyond just intellectual property issues.
Jeff also has been a musician for almost 30 years. As such, he has a first-hand understanding of the legal needs of entertainers.
